General Info

This is a plinia phitrantha selection by Otto Andersen in Brazil. The tree is said to have very ornamental foliage and the fruits are said to have an excellent flavor.

Growing Conditions

Jaboticabas in general like low pH, lots of water, and filtered light for the first few years, after which they may be transferred to full sun. Trees grown in the ground may require treatments of chelated iron.

4-7 years from seed.

Fruits are described as having an excellent flavor, with one grower comparing them to Fruit Loops cereal.
