These plants are grown and shipped in a 9.5” deep pots. Plants are 3”+ tall. Most seedlings have 2 sets of leaves at this point, but some have just 1. All 3 seedlings are grown and shipped in the same pot, to be separated later or left to grow together to achieve a male and female pair. A single imbe seed can also be purchased from the drop down option, but it is recommended to have more than 1.

Note: only grafted trees make fruits that are exactly the same as their parent trees. Seedling trees may show traits which are different from the parent trees to varying degrees

General Info

This garcinia species is native to Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana, being widespread from South Africa, north to Somolia and west to Guinea. The trees grow in a wide range of soil types and rainfall conditions, but generally like hot summers and warm winters. Male and female flowers are born on different plants, with possibly some hermaphrodite flowers present. For best fruit production, male and female plants are recommended, which is why a 3-pack is being offered.

Trees grow slowly and can perform well on most soils. They are drought tolerant, but cold sensitive.

The taste is quite good, acid-sweet.
