Our Shipping Policy & Guarantees

Packaging & Cost

Shipping is calculated by weight. The only current option for shipping is USPS Priority. Local pickup may also be scheduled.

We like to ship our plants & trees in containers, either: 5” plugs, mini-treepots (varying in depths of up to 9”), classic nursery pots, grow bags, or small plastic bags for some seedlings. The only exception are plants with well established root systems grown in 5” plugs, which are shipped with soil in tact and wrapped in plastic. We believe this adds value to your purchase as there is less disturbance to the trees and no need to immediately pot-up upon receiving your plant. If you wish to order ten (10) or more trees, please contact us for customized shipping.

Economy Shipping

We realize that it gets quite expensive pretty quickly when multiple plants grown in tall pots or 1 gallon containers are purchased together and shipped in their container with all of their soil, especially if you are purchasing from the west coast (shipping from Florida to states like California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii have much higher shipping rates via USPS than other states). In order to cut down on shipping cost, we are introducing an Economy Shipping option. For this, plants will be removed from their pots and most soil will be removed. The plants will then be carefully wrapped for shipping. This will greatly reduce the weight of the package and save you a lot of money in shipping. Please note that there is an increased risk of plant shock for this type of shipping option as the plant’s roots are being disturbed. The price is a flat rate of $10 + $2.50 per plant. So 5 plants would be $10 + 5x$2.50 = $22.50.

Local Pickup

Local pickup is free. Please contact us to arrange a pickup date and time.

Overcharge

There may be an occasion where you are charged too much for shipping. If this happens, refunds will be issued, ideally through PayPal. If this happens, you will be contacted. If you think you’ve been overcharged and we don’t contact you, please contact us! Please consider that we add in a few dollars for shipping materials and labor.

Returns

Please let us know of any damaged or dead plants/seeds upon arrival by sending a picture to our Instagram or email. If the damage is the fault of the postal service, we will file a claim on your behalf and either refund your money or send a replacement (if available). If the damage is our fault, we will also refund your money or send a replacement. Other return inquires will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but we strive to make our customers happy!

Fully Certified

Our nursery is fully certified to ship to all states except Arizona. We satisfy each state’s requirements for pest and nematode certification, including California. We do not ship to Arizona due to the State Phytosanitary Certification requirement. All necessary certificates are included in each shipment.

The Guarantee - Your Satisfaction

We do our absolute best to make sure you, our valued customer, is happy. Occasionally, mistakes do happen in the nursery business, whether it is mislabeled seeds or plants. For example, we may have purchased seeds from a seller who mislabeled them, which caused us to mislabel them as well. Our mistake may not be apparent until years later when the tree finally fruits and something different from what you purchased. If this happens to you, please let us know immediately and we will investigate the matter. If it turns out that we have mislabeled something, we will certainly refund your money and attempt to rectify the issue. In addition, we will contact everyone who purchased the mislabeled items and offer the same refund. We do not anticipate this happening and hope that it never does, but we are aiming to be very honest and transparent. Thank you for supporting Real Sweet Farms!
